Reporting Verb + if/whether/wh-word + Statement Order

Verbo dichiarativo + se/parola interrogativa + ordine della frase affermativa

Schema: [Reporting Verb] + [Wh-word/If] + [Subject] + [Verb]
Significato: Si usa per riferire una domanda senza usare il punto interrogativo, cambiando l'ordine delle parole da interrogativo ad affermativo.

She asked where I lived.

Lei ha chiesto dove vivessi.

He told me not to go.

Mi ha detto di non andare.

Nelle Reported Questions, non si usa l'inversione (ausiliare prima del soggetto) né il punto di domanda.

Se la domanda originale è una 'Yes/No question', usiamo if o whether.

Per i Commands (ordini), usiamo la struttura tell/order + object + to + infinitive. Se l'ordine è negativo, usiamo not to.

He asked where I was.
= 'Ha chiesto dove fossi.' (Non: where was I)

She told him to wait.
= 'Gli ha detto di aspettare.'

Qual è la forma corretta per riportare la domanda: 'Where do you work?'?
