  • Padrão: [Subject] + [said] + [that] + [Backshifted Verb]
  • Significado: Usado para relatar falas de outras pessoas, geralmente voltando um tempo verbal no passado.
He said that he lived in London.

Ele disse que morava em Londres.

🎓 Explicação

No Reported Speech, quando o verbo introdutório (said/told) está no passado, os tempos verbais da fala original geralmente 'voltam um passo' no tempo (Backshift).

Por exemplo: Present Simple vira Past Simple, e 'will' vira 'would'.

Pronomes e referências de tempo também mudam para refletir quem está falando e quando.

Direct: 'I am happy' → Reported: He said he was happy.
= 'Ele disse que estava feliz.'
